Carousel
One of my earliest successes in pushing the envelope was Carousel. I wanted to elevate the everyday trucker into something that felt special and premium, but at the same time I was hoping to provide some commentary on the pomp surrounding classic art. No shade to the Mona Lisa, but I think she can afford to lose a peg or two. I printed Renaissance art and combined it with flashy brocades and smooth-grain leathers and then topped each brim with some olive laurel embroidery to really pull the collection together. Initially met with some resistance, this collection was resurrected three times over the following years.
