Vision Vision

A not-so-obvious play on words, double vision was a style I designed and developed in three color ways for a SS25 campaign motif I created called “Mirage”. The overall notion of Mirage was to invoke the sort of liminal experience that is going on vacation. The more seasonal and basic styles for this collection simply utilized exotic, tropical colors. And as the assortment moved up into higher price points and more exclusive styles, the design ethos became more and more surreal, beginning with a simple beach getaway and moving through White Lotus into Fantasy Island. Among the top styles from this collection, Vision Vision is meant to symbolize the moment where you can barely remember your “real” life. A painstaking multilayered technique; first the fabric is screen printed offset, then a satin appliqué is added and embroidered down, and finally 3D embroidery is layered over. Additionally, I used two heavily washed layers of mesh to give the back panels a parallax effect that almost looks like moving water.
